BIOGRAPHY
Born in Tokyo, Junpei Hiraoka studied painting at Setsu Mode Seminar in Tokyo and ceramic at Ishoken in Tajimi, famous city for its production of ceramics.
His exceptional ceramic vessels, coated by layers of slip, reveal a deep interest for the power of colour and textured surfaces.
Using colour to express emotions and memories, his works emphasizes an expressive and gestural approach to the sculptural language.
