BIOGRAPHY
Since Osawa was a collage student, he has been challenging how he can develop a unique blend of the techniques of Japanese paintings and Urushi that is one of the oldest painting materials in Japan. This experimentation is closely tied with his execution themes. The exhibited artworks are painted with the mixture of pigment inks (sumi) and Urushi, deconstructing the potentiality of the materials and arriving to create a sense of material collage.
